Financial Coordinator

Our client, a global advertising agency located in downtown Toronto  is seeking a Financial Coordinator for a permanent opportunity, please see a list of responsibilities below:

  • Work closely with client service team and finance to ensure financial needs of both agency and client are meet
  • Assigning and setting up jobs in financial systems (SAP)
  • Working with internal finance team on inter-company payable  and billings
  • Assist in the process of client related supplier invoices
  • Prepare production estimates and issue billing
  • Ensure costs and billing on jobs are current and accurate
  • Monitor jobs ensuring costs are within estimate and flag any discrepancies
  • Maintaining a detailed financial jobs status report
  • Financial experience in advertising industry is an asset but not required

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in a financial administrator role or accounting clerk position
  • Superior organizational skills with demonstrated commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Customer service focused and professional
  • Understanding of billings procedures an asset
  • Experience using SAP
  • College/University degree in accounting preferred

Senior Accountant

We have an exciting contract opportunity for a Senior Accountant located in downtown Toronto.  Please see the list of duties below:

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain and analyze capital accounts for the partners

Jounal entries for transactions such as cash draws

Maintain term deposits/retainers held on behalf of clients

Perform month-end close

Reconciliation of sub-ledger and general ledger

Prepare weekly/monthly remittances for non-resident withholding tax payments

Preparation of monthly financial statements

Support CFO with the preparation of quarterly financial statements

Financial Analysis

Prepare quarterly retired partrner payments

Prepare annual filings of annual report to Law Society of Upper Canada for trust accounts

Annual reporting to the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation for term deposts

Analysis for annual audits

Experience Required

CPA designation or the equivalent of

Strong attention to detail

Deadline oriented and good time management skills

Strong communication both written and verbal, interact professionally at all levels

Advanced computer skills ie. MS Office, proficiency with Aderant is an asset

Previous law firm experience is preferred and would be considered an asset

Our global media client with a transformative, high performing culture is looking to add to their large finance team in Toronto. They are looking for a dynamic, ambitious Accounting Manager who wants to be a strategic partner in the business.
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the full profit and loss of a business unit, preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures.

What you will be doing:
– Full responsibility for the preparation of the General Ledger entries and reconciliation for the month-end closing
– Provide in-depth analytics and commentary on financial results vs forecast
– Monitor outstanding intercompany balances and resolve discrepancies
– Monitoring of all reporting deliverables (monthly actuals & forecasts, YE and QE supplementary packs, IT additional information requests), ensuring timely submission in line with deadlines
– Review monthly revenue and expenses for accruals
– Variance analysis and analytics and commentary on financial results vs forecast
– Manage and review Finance outsourcing team workflow: bank reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and other reporting templates
– Manage business groups budget, forecast and client reporting
– Manage the working capital monitoring and cash forecasting
– Develop and implement process improvements
– Review and submit government tax audits; internal/external financial audits
– Preparing sales tax returns and corporate reporting requirements

Strategic Thinking & Leadership:
– Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner
– Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate
– Guide team members and nurture/promote team environment
– Assist in constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents
– Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to transition among them seamlessly

What you bring:
– University Degree in business administration, finance or accounting
– 7+ years’ relevant experience, ideally with media industry experience
– CPA certification
– Thorough understanding of the financial process
– Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
– Thrives in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
– Advanced Microsoft Office skills
